New York-based graphic designer and artist Tara Sinn makes entertaining and in some cases interactive websites that playfully push the boundaries of what the Internet can be used for. Having used the Internet as a means to pass the time at a dull desk job, Sinn strives to create digital destinations that become a quick escape for the viewer either though the act of interacting or simply zoning out for a few minutes. Using her sense of humor as her main tool, Sinn’s websites are quirky and amusing and often hypnotic in their repetition and graphics. Not does Sinn confront the boredom brought on by the amount of information and imagery consumed on the Internet on a daily basis, she emphasizes the idea of the Internet as a big black hole.
