SBG is excited to announce our SUMMER/16 solo exhibition titled On Paper featuring three bodies of works by Jesse Chun.

Chun (born 1984, South Korea) is a Brooklyn-based conceptual artist from Seoul, Hong Kong, New York, and Toronto. She reinterprets the visual rhetoric of bureaucratic paperwork involved in the process of travel, migration and immigration. Starting with a research-based process, she collects and curates various passports and immigration forms from her own archive, as well as from her friends and family. Employing the role of the artist as editor, she appropriates, redacts and recontextualizes the found documents into landscapes, abstractions, and poetry.
